Frequently Asked Questions
Does Personal Touch Homecare accept clients with long-term care insurance coverage?
Yes, we do. Personal Touch Homecare works with a variety of long-term care insurance providers. We are a contracted in-home care provider for major administrators such as LTCG Group and Illumifin.
Our billing department handles and submits bi-monthly claims on behalf of policyholders to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement. In addition, we offer all clients a complimentary long-term care policy review. This service helps evaluate available benefits and develop a care plan tailored to each client’s specific needs.
Are your Home Care Aides employed by Personal Touch Homecare or are they independent contractors?
All of our Home Care Aides are W-2 employees of Personal Touch Homecare and not independent contractors.
As their employer, we take full responsibility for payroll, employment taxes, and all legal obligations. This includes providing professional and general liability insurance, a surety bond, and workers’ compensation coverage. We also ensure our caregivers are properly trained and compliant with all state and federal regulations.
What training is required for your Home Care Aides?
As a California-licensed Home Care Organization, we are legally required to ensure that all Home Care Aides complete both initial and annual training as mandated by state regulations.
In addition to meeting these minimum requirements, we provide ongoing training in key areas such as dementia care, hospice care, healthcare VIP response, and workplace violence prevention. Our goal is to equip our caregivers with the knowledge and skills needed to deliver safe, compassionate, and high-quality care to every client.
Do you provide backup Home Care Aides in case of an emergency?
Yes, we do. At Personal Touch Homecare, we prioritize continuity of care. In the event of an emergency or unexpected absence, our trained on-call staff are prepared to step in and provide coverage.
We have systems in place to ensure that client care is never disrupted, and that every shift is covered without compromising the quality or safety of service.
Is there a minimum time commitment required to receive services, and how much notice is needed to start care?
At Personal Touch Homecare, our services are customized based on each client’s unique needs, so there is no strict minimum time commitment required.
We are flexible and do our best to accommodate schedule changes. Starting services typically requires 24-hour notice, and any changes to the care plan or hours can also be made with a 24-hour notice.
Does Medicare help cover the cost of Personal Touch Homecare?
Unfortunately, no. Personal Touch Homecare is considered a non-medical home care provider, and Medicare does not cover non-medical services such as assistance with daily activities, companionship, or personal care.
Can you provide information on service rates and fees?
At Personal Touch Homecare, we offer competitive and flexible pricing to accommodate each client’s budget and care needs. As a privately owned in-home care provider, our rates are generally more affordable than many national home care franchises, and we pride ourselves on working closely with families to find a solution that fits their financial situation.
We provide a complimentary in-home evaluation and assessment, during which we determine the appropriate level of care and recommended hours. Your final rate will be based on the level of care, the schedule you require, and the services you wish to receive.
Do you offer 24-hour care services?
Yes, we do. To support a smooth transition from a medical facility to the home environment, we often recommend a few days of round-the-clock care. This provides clients and families with added support during the adjustment period, and care hours can be tapered down as needed over time.
Our agency provides 24-hour coverage (2 shifts of 12 hours), ensuring consistent care without requiring room and board. Caregivers remain awake and present throughout their shifts, as client safety and well-being are our top priorities.
If 24-hour care is no longer necessary, clients have the flexibility to modify their schedule at any time to better suit their evolving needs.
